Racism, porn stars and brutal sexism: New book on Trump reveals sordid details of his private life
It is revealed that the president qualifies his marriage as “just another deal”, uses his daughter Ivanka to distract men during negotiations
A new book went on sale in the United States with controversial revelations about the sexist behavior of President Donald Trump. After former National Security Advisor John Bolton and renowned journalist Bob Woodward, now is the turn of Michael Cohen. The book is titled: “Unfair: The True Story of President Donald J. Trump’s Former Personal Attorney”.
The White House tried to ban the publication of the book, but Cohen won the legal battle. We should recall that since 2018 he has been serving a sentence for lying to Congress to protect Trump for his alleged links with Russia and the payment to women with public money. He began the three-year sentence in a federal institution but later received the benefit of home arrest.
According to The Guardian, in the book he talks about Trump’s racism and the hatred he has for his predecessor Barack Obama, his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin, and his brutal treatment of women. It also includes a vulgar sexual comment about a 15-year-old that Trump did not know was Cohen’s daughter.
In addition, it offers extensive details about the secret payments to the porn star Stormy Daniels and the Playboy model Karen McDougal, with whom Trump would have had a sexual relationship. Even those payments are investigated by New York prosecutors.
Regarding affairs outside of marriage, Cohen says Trump was not concerned that his partner, Melania, would leave him. “I can always get another wife (…) That is not a problem for me. If she wants to go, so be it”, would be the tycoon’s words.
In addition, he quotes today’s first lady saying that she did not care what people say or write. The lawyer states the following: “She knew everything, but did not do what most wives would”.
Sexism on the surface
A report from the Actualidad RT network includes parts of the book. In them, it is revealed that the president qualifies his marriage as “just another deal”, uses his daughter Ivanka to distract men during negotiations, criticizes the appearance of his daughter Tiffany and on more than one occasion unleashed his anger against his son Donald Trump Jr.
Cohen also wrote that in 2007, the ex-husband of makeup artist Jill Harth accused Trump of harassing and sexually assaulting her in 1993. However, the lawyer got Jill to sign a statement stating that the claims were false, RT informed.
He also wrote that he knew that Trump “would corner pretty women in his office and forcibly kiss them when they tried to back off”. He claims that the tycoon would “grab women by the cheeks, bring them close to his face and kiss them on the lips”.
In this regard, he also tells of other fraud and sexual infidelities of the president, whom he claims he knows “better than his family”. “Their attitudes were from a different time, a bit like those of the Rat Gang of the ’50s (Hollywood actor group) and the need to respect women was never taken seriously”, says the author, as quoted by RT .
Regarding how he used Ivanka to his advantage in negotiations, RT quotes Cohen: “He often asked me to send Ivanka to a meeting with a married man who, according to the boss, would be susceptible to her charms”. And he adds that Trump told him: “Men cannot think clearly when they are near her (…) They cannot take their eyes off her”, not even when those men were twice her age.
Trump’s “other” sons
Because of that “warm” relationship with Ivanka there would be a rivalry with his other daughter, Tiffany, nicknamed in the family as “the red-haired stepdaughter”, because she was from Trump’s second marriage. Donald Jr, Eric and Ivanka are the children with his first wife, Ivana.
According to the book, Tiffany once asked her father to call Anna Wintour, editor of ‘Vogue’, to do an internship at the magazine. But, Trump spoke to Ivanka about it and they both criticized her physical appearance.
“I don’t think Tiffany looks right. She doesn’t have what you have, darling”, Trump would have commented at that time. And Ivanka’s response would have been: ‘I agree. She just doesn’t look right, that’s the right way to put it, Daddy”.
On the other hand, the book also exposes “the embarrassments of Donald Trump Jr, one of the main campaign representatives of his father”, reviews The Guardian. Cohen describes how the president confronted him over his love for trophy hunting, a hobby that exposes him to the fury of conservationists and the delight of his political rivals.
“What the hell is wrong with you? — Trump yelled at him once — You think you’re a great man sitting on the rocks and then boom! Did you kill some fucking animal? Then you dragged your brother (Eric) into this shit? Why the hell are you posting photos like this? Get out of my office”.
Another aggressive episode with Donald Jr. occurred in the mid-2000s, when Trump oversaw his failed mortgage-market venture, Trump Mortgage LLC. “He did not want to share his name with a ‘loser’ if that was what his son turned out to be”, says Cohen in his book, reports RT.
Trump and his gangster life
In the text, Cohen admits that he was “notoriously brutal to reporters and anyone else who might harm” the man he was protecting: Trump. For this reason, he says that he felt that his life was ‘dreamlike’, as if he were a gangster.
He even remembers that in October 2016 a Trump tape was published where he boasted of sexually assaulting women. Well — Cohen says — that happened because he was not in America, but in London, “catching up with some people we knew”.
The publisher of the book, Skyhorse Publishing, calls it “the most devastating corporate and political horror story of the century”. “This is a story that they have not read in newspapers or on social networks, nor seen on television. This is a story that could only be known by someone who has worked for Trump 24 hours a day for a decade, not just for a few months or even a couple of years”.
What has been the response from the White House? The same as with the other books, they have called Cohen “a disgraced criminal, a disbarred lawyer, who lied to Congress. He has lost all credibility and it is not surprising to see his latest attempt to profit from the lies”.
The RT network recalls that Cohen, 53, in February 2019 called Trump a “racist, swindler and a cheater”. This was done in his testimony before the House of Representatives on the alleged crimes of the tycoon during the 2016 election campaign.
In a recent interview with NBC, Cohen referred to his former boss as “a cult leader” who should resign, so as to receive a clemency from Mike Pence to avoid criminal charges. Worse, he also assured that Trump would “manipulate the ballots” or “start a war” to avoid losing the White House to Joe Biden in November
